Ceramic brake pads? 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Anyone gives these a shot yet? I found them for the 1600's, only the fronts tho. However, they show 2 different ones for the 1600, different prices, different part numbers too. I tried calling, but after 15min on hold, got tired and hung up

Ceramic brake pads

In the Parts unlimited catalog they are TSRP-863

Erbman, I tried finding the ceramic pads when I wore out my OEM's on the rear and ended up going with the EBC HH Sintered pads because I couldn't find anyone who stocked the the ceramic ones. I have been very happy with the stopping and sound provided by the sintered pads.

I've always used HH pads, just curious about the ceramics. But think they come only for fronts. I need to replace both front rotors, they are a bit under spec after 130k miles, thought about the ceramics to go with new rotors, tho the front pads are kinda new any way. Just looking to see if anyone actually tried the ceramics. All in all, I prefer the stock pads, just have a hard time with the costs of them

I heard the dust free pads are made like the ceramic pads, but are not considered to be ceramic for some reason.

I know we use ceramic pads on our Ag planes, I don't know anything about motorcycle application but everybody seems to think if its good enough for an airplane its got to be a good product.

well, I just need to confirm on these 2 I found, since they both say for front. but the 1700 front brake pads are different, so don't know if this brand has them for your front brake. Guess you'll need to try to cross reference for your bike. I don't think there are any other brands in ceramic. Might want to check in J&P cycles and Drag specialties catalogs. Think that was where I found them first, then started the hunt for crossing. was not an easy task

I've tried the ceramc pads .... they're okay, better than the stock, but I've switched to scintered pads and find them the best by far.

Were you able to find for the rear? I've only been able to find fronts and only in the TUF-STOP brand. Would like to know all the options, been a bear looking for them, but did come with those so far.
