Same here, I get 46 mpg most of the time. I managed to get 51 mpg once. Must of been the right mix in the air that day. I don't have a large windshield, you guys that do, does that effect mpg as much as it seems it would?

I also believe the windshield makes some difference, especially at interstate speeds and higher . We are pushing a ton of air with those things.
Bought my '06 new in Feb this year and had some worries about MPG as well for the first 600 to 1K miles. Was lucky to get 30 even though I was babying her. Got better as I put on more miles then changed to synthetic at 2nd change. I now have aroung 6500 and mpg has continued to improve. It varies now from around 40 to near 50 depending on how I ride, but typically I get mid 40's.
Ride Safe,

Just my .02 cents worth here, on a bad day I get 43-44 mpg. On a good day, I get around 38 mpg. Love to hear those V&H shorties.

Hey B4,
I'm in the middle of breaking mine in and working things out. I got 48 mpg on one tank when totally stock and on a road trip on the open hwy. Now, with the PMS turned out 3+1/2 with slip-ons and the AIS removed, I'm getting around 39mpg, but not as much steady cruising.
Your mpg is waaaay off, and I personally don't think a "new" motor would produce figures like that.
GOOD luck...and, let us know!

I noticed ata the beginning of your thread you said dealer jetted it with just new pipes. What did they put in there? If they put too big or put needle too rich then you are just sucking up extra fuel you do not need.
Find out what they did to screw up your bike and make them fix it.
You should get numbers close to this.
80-100 mph = 32-36mpg
70-80 mph = 34-40 mpg
60-70 mph = 38-46 mpg
55-65 mph = 42-50 mpg
Those are avg with minimal throtle blimping.
