#102073 olskool (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 73 Easy Carb Removal 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago   This may have been suggested in the pass...if so my bad. This is how I removed mine, and thought it may be easier. 1 I had removed the tank....because I did the AIS removal first 2. I took the 2 bolts out that hold the fuel pump assembly on and removed the choke cable and fuel line from the pump. 3. I unplugged the wiring (TPS and carb heater) that goes to the carb at the harness (had to cut a wire tie so have one handy). 4 When I removed the carb it came out has an assembly, with wiring, fuel line and choke cable still attached, and there was nothing was in the way when I did the jetting. 5.Just reverse the process for the reinstall. To me it was a lot easier than unplugging the TPS at the carb...they are fragile anyhow along with the carb heater. If you need to mess with your jetting again and if you put the allen head bolts in the float bowl you don't need to take the carb off. You can do everything with the carb on the bike. Another way of doing it anywho. And you shouldn't take the TPS off the carb. They came with my BAK. Pistol, if you still have the stock airbox, I recommend you also replace the phillips head screw Yamaha used to tighten the air cleaner clamp to the carb with a metric hex head instead. When you're getting in and out of the carb a lot, I found it to be a lot easier.   Logged     Black is faster? White is faster? Someone on another board answered the screws are M4 x 10 mm long. I especially like the tip from olskool.
