PMS Adjustmet ?? 3 Weeks, 5 Days ago
I just installed a corba boulevard Classic Slashcut - Part #2371SC This is a full system, includes head pipes, these are not slip-ons. Away installed the exhaust system with new exhaust gaskets and have no leaks, my RD* still has the stock air box, and AIS system on it. I took it for a test run a everything seems to be running great, I hardly have any backfire (that's running anywhere between 60-70mph in 4th gear that letting completely off the gas) My question is, do I need to turn the PMS in (clockwise) a 1/8 of a turn just to make sure it's not running to lean? Also I'm running 87 octane gas, and i'm currently running the marvel mystery oil to keep away the SVS Monster. thanks for any all help! oklardstar

If the bike is running good just ride it and enjoy. Turning the PMS in will make it more lean. Not less. But don't tweak the PMS unless the bike tells you to.

You said your bike seems top be running great. That means it's not doing anything to tell you something is wrong. If you get popping on normal decel it's probably the AIS. If you get backfires on normal decel it could be lean or it could be an exhaust leak. Just changing pipes doesn't make a drastic change. I wouldn't worry about changing anything until you have at least a tank of gas through it. See how it runs. Don't worry about being too lean. The bike runs like fried crap when your too lean.

Too lean .... not usually the PMS .... it could be anywhere ..... jet, accelerator pump.

thanks for all the help, the reason I asked all these question b/c I'm scared the motor would run to lean and start to burn valves, etc, but everyone makes it sound if it was running lean, I would notice it right away, thanks for all the help

That's correct .... I personally think most folks should not be worried regarding running too lean ... they should be worried about running to rich as that seems to be where most problems arise.
