Went and bought the new jet 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Tonight I went and bought the 13370-08F50 Suzuki needle valve set, I am going to take the old carb apart with the instructions from this site, re-jet and re-tune the bike.
I have been getting very bad detonation at high speeds, 80+ when the throttle is twisted. So I am going to start with that.
It seems that the bike runs different at different times of the year, so its time I find out what settings that carb likes at what time because even though I live in Pittsburgh Pa. I ride through most of the winter when people are putting their Harley's away (Joke Mr Big Bear), even if it is true
So I am getting the information off the carb jetting and the carb tuning pages Tech Articles from our site.
So who wants to bet I have to send the site some more money after I do all this and it works.....
Howie

If I don't blow myself up in the garage, we'll see about the beer! I want to get all my ducks in a row before I take it off so I can have the least around of down time possible. I figure one night should do it. Take it off, change the jet, adjust the bowl, adjust the main, bold her on, find tune a tad and rock and roll right?....lol

I scared myself first time I did it, because carbs are a bit complex and can be tricky (I used to do a lot of Honda automobile carbs 25+ years ago).

It would have gone a lot easier had the pictures and directions with my jet kit been better.

Fortunately for me, the first time was the charm. Set things exactly as the K&N jet kit directions described for the needle, and she ran perfectly throughout the entire RPM range. Start-up and driveability are flawless... gas mileage is very good.

Yesterday, I removed the fuel pump, and bought a slim filter. The only trick was relocating the choke cable by fabricating a new mount from the old pump, filter, choke mount bracket. It worked out well and looks real clean. I'm very pleased with the new look of the fully exposed jugs on the left side!

Oh, and I didn't replace the fuel inlet jet with the larger one. I stuck with stock. The way I ride, I may never need to go bigger... I'll be the first to find out though, and will report my results here!
