Air Filter 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi Doc, here's something different, I took a Webber Ramflo air filter, had my buddy machine an adapter to mount the filter and also mount to the bike. Now I have plenty of air, question the jetting, currently I am running V&H pipes and a Dynojet kit. I have a DJ175 for a main jet, stock pilot, mixture screw 3 turns out and the needle is set in the third grove. In an earlyer forum before the the new filter,I was having problems with the plugs burning to rich and ypur advice was to turn in the mixture screw until the bike stumbled and then turn it out until it stumbled, then turn it half way between these 2 points and that would be my starting point. I tried this with the new filter and I can turn the mixture screw just about all the way in before it affects the idle, same in the other direction, so any thoughts where I go from here.

Thanks for any help

Sweet filter!

If you turn the PMS too fast the carb will not 'equalize' and you can get the results you have. You need to turn the PMS in slowly, about 1/4 turn at a time, and let it stabilize for a moment.

If you have access to a tach then that wooud be better.

Float bowl level to spec?

The WOT test showed the DJ175 was the best jet?

Wet enuf for you in NB?
