#110669 Hotelfox (User) Riding The BIG RED THUNDERCHICKEN!! Platinum Boarder Posts: 1140 Just orderd the Adjustable PMS 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago   Ahhhh I just ordered the Adjustable PMS from Barrons....ahhhh. Now I have that to change, the 2.5 needle valve also and I want to put in the flasher system, I still have to go and get the parts for that... I guess winter is a time to some of this, I am so busy riding I can't bare the thought of putting it down and not having it running. How long does it take to change? The pilot screw should be screw out, screw in. The Needle will take more time, carb off, take apart, carb on. How long roughly does that take? Platinum Boarder Posts: 3149 Re:Just orderd the Adjustable PMS 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago   hotelfox you can change the needle with the carb on just pull the tank and remove the black bakelight cap on the carb (two screws). The PMS is just as you said screw out screw in just be SURE to not loose the o-ring, washer and spring on the OEM screw you will need them to put on the new screw. The needle you're talking about is the float needle right? You won't get at that through the top of the carb. You need to take the float out to change the float needle and seat. You're not changing the pilot. You're changing the PMS screw. If that hasn't been messed with before you will need to take the carb off to get to it. If it's the first time you've taken the carb off and taken it apart it's going to take as long as it takes. Don't set a time limit.
