Yes it will effect your jetting it will make you richer. I am not sure if the HC kit comes with more than one jet like the Barons does. Good luck with your HC I sold mine and got a BAK I like it much better and it is easy to jet for as well. Just my 2 cents.BTW when you port your manifold take the runners to the cylinders down to the metal.Curt, I am not trying to be a pain but if you port a manifold doesn't it make the engine leaner as it lets more air in? More air same amount of fuel would be leaner wouldn't it? Thanks.

Here's a good read on the subject:
MAnifold Porting FAQ
Gram thanks for showing me this article. I am still unconvinced. An engine is just a fancy airpump. If you make it pump more air you can burn more fuel and make more power. Seems to me if you port a manifold and increase the airflow through the engine you will also need more fuel to burn. More air without more fuel means leaner mixture. I am NOT trying to argue the point, I am trying to understand it. It is making my head hurt.

I was unconvinced at first too. But after I purchased an exhaust analyzer I confirmed it. Every bike I installed one on was richer after the install. Some only needed minor adjustments. But if it was one of my manifolds they usually needed a full size jet smaller main.

Okay, That helps. If you have seen it with your own eyes and have analyzer evidence to back it up then maybe I'll go for it. It sure seems like it would be the other way though doesn't it? Thanks Gram I appreciate your time.

I have to assume its related to pressure Bob. With a larger interior space (actually way larger and the 'T' junction which causes turbulence - a pressure system - is gone) and constant demand the pressure should go down, and the air density would have to follow. Its the only thing that makes any sense. Maybe Doc will wander by and have some additional thoughts. Its absolutely the reverse of anything I have done that was similar to any other vehicle.

FYI.. I haven't measured the pressure or vacuum in any of them, so speculating here. But have seen math that supports this for AC ducting systems. The only thing I measured was the exhaust.

ooh... the engine absolutely gets more air and fuel, as it should. I just think the air is at a lower density going into the heads.

One ??? on porting the manifold. Will it void out warranty?? not really making internal mods but didnt know if this would void warranty?

Thanks

I have never, ever seen a dealer call foul for a ported manifold. Not saying it will never happen, just haven't seen it. If they do call foul, go to another dealer. As quickly as you can. It won't be the only problem you are going to have with them if they think that way.

Obviously the warranty on the manifold is void though.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like a good winter project and will go ahead and make room for the bigger orings as well.
