Okay, here is the story from the local stealership (now so named for what you are about read). Got a call from service man, "we can't seem to get rid of the backfire". "We will need more time", i.e. more money. After your kind notes I told him as nicely and politley as possible to put it together (he said it was running, just backfiring on decel). Picked up and rode home, did backfire pretty good a couple of times. Decided on a ride later in the evening for a little more distance. Interstingly it quit backfiring and just had the popping on decel. Ran pretty good in the seat of the pants test. I had taken a Dynojet kit #4176.001 to them and asked them to record what they put in and for all parts back. Here is what the report says is in it;

"Fuel screw out 1.5 turns, 35 pilot jet, 195 main jet, 5 clips down with 2 shims on top"

Here's where it gets interesting.......

Kit has the 195 main jet still sealed in it's baggy......

The kit is missing the 190 main jet and the 200 main jet and I dont have whatever was in it originally (I assume this since I would think I would have a main jet that doesnt match whats listed in the kit). I need to make an attempt to recover the missing parts of the dealer, but I am not holding my breath.....

It's been raining here for 4 days straight now so havent got any more riding time in. Although I know the answer, tell it to me gently......... I need to take the stinker all apart to verify whats really in it
