Bike... and you may not need it. I removed the pump... no issues. Runs just fine. Try it first without the larger Suzuki inlet.

Put the 2.5 in mine and it works just fine. And I dumped the pump. Hey I'm a poet!

You are a poet and didn't know it!

I had my first little burp today with no pump, I was sitting at a light on a hill, started off and the bike started sputtering, I was a little low on fuel so I had to go to reserve a little early and it cleared it up. So with no pump, keep that baby full of fuel if you can.

I also vented my fuel cap, that's a really easy thing to do and it will help a lot.

I ran a long time without the large needle valve and no pump, no problem. BUT, as I found out, if you happen to be going up a decent hill and trying to pass someone, you can wind it out enough to make it sputter. NOT the time to hope it keeps working, so I upgraded to the larger valve and no problems since. $40 well spent for my peace of mind!

I do have the larger valve, and vented gas cap. Hopefully just a fluke.

Got mine here:

http://www.motogrid.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/default.aspx

Use the part number from the Tech Tip article and do a search here...this is where I got mine. Once you're ready to purchase, the system will automatically have you set up to buy 4 of them, but you only need one...you'll see a "+" and "-" sign...just click "-" to reduce quantity to one (you'll see the price decrease with each click ) and you'll be good to go!

I just went to my Yamaha dealer and ordered the Suzuki 2.5 valve needle. Worked like a champ.

Some other folks have mentioned that they have to go to reserve a little sooner..one fix is to shorten the intake pipe on the fuel supply..I think Coug cut off about a half inch..
