I have an 00 and your getting what I have gotten for 8 years now. I have gotten 40mpg a couple of times due to tailwind pushing me and as low as 32 with a head wind. I have tried running the entire tank full and never getting above 55mph and never hammering on the throttle and still only got 38mpg. So I think that your right in the ball park with your numbers. If you look at Yamaha's specs gas mileage figures for the R* your right there. These guys that say they get 200 miles on a tank full are in my opinion extremely lucky and are not of the norm.
