My apologies to any riders that have Cobra power pro hp 2 into 1 Pipes , I realize sound is a personal thing . Anyway bought abnd installed a set of those and in my opinion they LOOKS great but SOUNDS Lousy !!.... Cobra no help , but solution on its way from Big city Thunder . ...ie a 1+5/8 in. thunder monster Baffle in Both Head pipes followed by replacing internal megaphone and baffle with a 2 inch straight pipe with or without an additional thunder monster inserted as needed. I want to insulate the Space between the Muffler body and the 2 inch pipe but not sure what to use . ( to eliminate or at least control the resonating can effect ) Any Insulation material advise appreciated . Lastly can anyone tell me what the HP and Torque specs are for a stock 1700 04 to 07 at what rpms and what peak RPM is . ??
AND if anyone can explain to me how to easily find my last thread when I open up the forum site that too would be apreciated .

Hi there...1Sailn1 ride...Yes there was a couple of previous threads on this subject that you might want to look back at. My opinion of the Cobra Power Pro 2 into 1 pipes is about the same as yours.
Cobra informed me that they were working on change out baffles for their mufflers but these are some time away.

I removed the megaphone / baffle assembly and ground the welds off then took the baffle to a local performance muffler shop. The guys at the muffler shop assisted me with making of baffle which extends the existing short piece of baffle tube to about 300mm long and effectively ensures the exhaust flow has to travel around the baffle and then through the baffle holes (new and pre-existing). I welded the magaphone back onto the baffle disc and then slid it back in.

The result to me was pretty satisfying....a nice note without the headaches.

A HD mechanic friend of mine suggested restriction orifice type baffles in the header pipes but personally I don't like the idea of restricting exhaust flow at the headers...I might be wrong here but it's a personal opinion only.

Sorry mate...I can't tell you what the specs for 1700 are. Mine is a 1600. I'm sure you'll get the feedback that you're looking for here though.

Emu says...best of luck with this mate.
