You cut the 1/2 inch off the main pick up tube. That way you don't have to go to reserve as soon when running pumpless. It doesn't affect the normal reserve amount.

Re:LARGER NEEDLE VALVE SEAT? 3 Months ago
After installing the 2.5mm valve assembly, reading just about every post concerning the subject, adjusting my float 4 times, installing a pingle tank valve and filter; it ran great until it hit that 1/3 tank level then I guess there isn't enough weight of the fuel to keep it gravity fed. I did this to clean up the left side of the motor, help the rear cylinder run a little cooler, one less thing to worry about or fix and make my bike simplier and more reliable. Now I've got to pussyfoot around and spoonfeed this bike when it gets low on fuel. Should've just left the pump on. Any suggestions anyone?

OEM pump in stock location or relocated under tank or sidecover.

Aftermarket pump (Purolator or Subaru).

Vacuum pump.
