We're talking about stock right. 
Obviously the factory has 'tuned' the bike so that it passes the standards. I bet if you take the AIS off it would fail the emissions test.
Now once you put on different exhaust, new airbox, take the AIS off or whatever, it's new ballgame ...... you want/need to tweak the carb, which usually means leaning out the carb.

Yeah, I'm talking stock. Am I running rich or lean? I know that's an open question and hard to answer, but how is it "supposed" to be?
My whole reason for asking is the "sticky valve" issue, seems to be many theories as to what causes it. One being running rich.
I can run my finger up the exhaust (cold of course) and it comes out clean. I'd guess I'm not rich.

As long as I don't feel both his hands on my shoulders I can tolerate it for a few seconds. 
Oh yeah, and don't go home and whine to the wife, they're not very sympathetic towards us when it comes to those kinds of things.
