I should know better but... 1 Month, 1 Week ago

I just can't leave my carb alone I purchased a Barons PMS screw a few months ago at a killer deal and never installed it cause everything has been running great. On thanksgiving I'm in the garage watching the Turkey cook on the BBQ and wishing I was riding.... and I thought hey, I got like 4 hours might as well put the PMS screw in. So I tore my bike apart and replaced the screw put it back together turned the screw to the same as I had before 1 3/4 turns from lightly seated. The Barons instructions state to set the PMS screw warm the engine up and turn the screw in until the idle starts sputtering and back off 1/4 turn or so. I turned the PMS ALL the way in and it did not sputter I turned the PMS 1 turn out and took it for a ride and it ran great no back fire on had decel and it pulled hard through all the gears so the question is do I have my other settings wrong??
I got my Barons needle @ 4 clip, 167.5 main jet, stock pilot Barons adjustable PMS screw 1 turn out.
Ok carb gurus what say you??

Did you take the parts off the old needle and put them on the new one?

Turn the PMS in 1/2 turn at a time and go for a ride. Keep doing this until you get popping on decel at around 1500 rpm, then back out 1/4 turn.

What if I end up all the way in with no pop? Then what?

If you can turn it (and leave it) all the way in with no problems then you are too rich somewhere else or there is something wrong with the new screw.

Put your old PMS back in and see what happens. Basic rule - When something all of a sudden goes wrong look at the last thing you did.
