Specific Jetting 3 Years, 10 Months ago

Here's the Sit.... I have a 99 Roadstar Silverado with a BAK on it and it is jetted for that from 165 to 170, (I BOUGHT IT LIKE THIS) the pipes are also stock, but stage III (hollow) It has a RevMaster on it, but that doesn't mean anything. That is all that has been changed on the engine.... She blows black smoke when revved.. It is also discoloring my fender tip and signal light.

I want to set it up properly for the spring, everything else is normal.. any suggestions????/

Thanks..

Sounds like you need to drop the size of the main Bob. Do you know if you have an aftermarket jet kit in it?

If you do, you might ant to try a 165 main and see if you can pass the WOT test (see our tech tips section under carbs). If you don't , I would try a 167.5 and see how it does.

Might take you a few tries to get to the right main.

The stock header pipes are a little more restrictive than aftermarket pipes tend to be and don't usually need as large a main. The 170 would probably be right if you had aftermarket pipes with baffles in them.
