Are you sure it didn't pop out ... those springs have a magical quality about them that causes them to fly all over the garage.

Without the spring the needle does not sit in the carrier solidly which in turn would affect your performance.

It's still not attached to the plug you had to pull out to get to the needle is it?

Didn't see or hear it go flying anywhere, looked all over the place just in case but didn't see it anywhere. Thought maybe it may have been left out by whomever messed with it last, in what way would it affect the carb performance?

Yes it would.

The bike will run, but not right.

If you can't find it you can use the spring out of a ball point pen.

The spring out of a ball point pen will work? The only thing is she is still torn apart for paint so i will have to wait to see if that works?
What do you suppose symptoms would be with spring missing or if the pen spring doesn't work so I will know what to listen and look for?

As long as you have time getting a new spring would probably be better. But people have used the spring out of a pen before. Without the spring the needle can bounce around and up and down. Going from leaner to richer as it pleases.

I see what you are talking about Musky. I went ahead and ordered the needle assembly yesterday but it will take anywhere between 7 to 10 working days for delivery and the paint is "SUPPOSED" to be ready by this coming weekend. Need the bike for transportation so I might have to try the pen spring for now. Thanks for the tip really appreciate it, you guys are bad a$$es!
