There is plenty of fall just lay out your fuel line and position your filter in a way to allow the most fall before cutting fuel line hose and installing hose clamps. I used braided stainless steel for a more custom appearance.

You will have to grind or file out the opening in the tank where the new petcock mounts. Just keep everything very clean. Rinse out all metal shavings with solvent or gas so none gets into carb or engine. I placed my tank upright on my work bench and using a round file used only down strokes to file the opening so most filings fell to the floor not inside the tank. It was sort of a pin in the butt.

While your tank is off make sure the tank vent hose (front of tank) is not plugged and venting OK.

I have also seen a posting on a forum on removing some plugs from the stock Roadstar gas cap to further aid in venting the gas tank and assisting with the free flow of fuel. I did this this winter but it has been too cold here to see if it made any difference. If not, I still have plenty of fuel at all times under all coditions.

I did add one item to my 42mm carb to further assist in fuel capacity and that is a fuel bowl spacer which increases the fuel volume in the fuel bowl. I got this from Jesse Lopez at West Coast CNC Machining. I was able to get it polished to match my polished 42mm carb.

Ride safe and good luck.
