Hoping some of you at similiar elevation could help me out. I had the dealer jet my bike since they have the means of testing exhaust gasses as they exit. Seems to me the jetted it pretty lean. It seems to be slow to get moving whenver I shift, and when I run it at a steady 65 in 3rd i get hesitation and popping.

The current setting for 2,605 ft in a dry climate

Main - 155
Pilot - 40
Needle clip position 4

I'm assuming this is off of a yamaha jet kit.

Any input would be appreciated, i'll probably be driving the bike back into the deal asap to have them re-adjust, but some ideas on where it should be or how off this is (if at all) would be helpful.

Thanks!!

A 155 Mik main is nuts unless you live in the upper stratosphere. I'm guessing they had to go to the 40 pilot to try and make up for it. Don't take it back there. Do it yourself and get it done right. It's not hard. Go back to the stock 35 pilot and then follow these basics - Jetting

155??? I was gonna say, that's CRAZY lean! I'm at 7,000 ft, dry climate, and run a 35 pilot and a DJ 170, which is roughly equivalent to a Mikuni 162.5...if there was such a thing.

Like Musky said, do it yourself--you'll be much better off AND have money to pay for gas...all the gas you need, which you're not getting with those settings.

Well thanks guys, sounds like they had a moron working on it. Guess I won't be going back there. Just for clarification smaller number means less fuel on any jet correct? same with needle clip? so 4 means less fuel than 5?

Yes on the jet. Yes if you count from the blunt end on the needle.

We usually count the needle grooves starting at the blunt end. 5 would be richer than 4. The closer down the e-clip to the point of the needle, raises the needle in the slide so it comes out sooner from the main, hence richer.
