Love the smooth BAK and thunder mfgr. units, but I've already got the barons jet kit here, how about the K&N box? Should serve the same purpose, and it's about half the $$$. Another BB all skate! Feel free to chime in!

Post edited by: Big Bear, at: 2007/04/01 16:06

Just go with what you like as they all perform about the same.

Some stick out more than others so your knee may hit it - depends on how you 'sit' on the bike.

Just had a heart to heart with myself, and convinced the alter-ego tight-wad to order a BAK (smooth ofcourse). It'll be here in a week!

Big Bear,
What brand of pipes are running and how do you like them. I've been thinking about going to a 2-into-1 pipe and was just curious. So far I've been leaning towards the Roadhouse pipes.

Thats them! R/H 2/1 with "optional" (read:more$$$) slash cut tip. I personally love this exhaust , And that's coming from a died in the wool V&H guy. Great sound, great look, fair price.

The only problem I had (not the pipes fault) was that when I removed the floorboards and installed the forwards, I dragged them in the first few corners (agressive riding) before tightening the rear shock to support my big self!

Thanks Big Bear,
I'm kinda partial to Roadhouse also. I'm running the 65 Special slip-ons but am seriously restricted on passenger footpeg positioning. Need to give the wife more leg room!!

And you can run big ole bags(if you wanted), so she could bring everything AND the kitchen sink on your next ride!

Spent a week of our honeymoon skiing there.

Love the place and the nearby towns were 'pure' American west. At least, in '77 they were.
