Thank you for all the replies. VikingWarhorse you are correct durango is 6500 or close to it..but my route takes me through Silverton...9000 feat and up from there. 12000 is high ball. Hate falling on my face when I am going over passes. Red mountain should be the highest I go (I think). Anyhoo ordered the kit from Baron part #BA-2420RD. And Boatmark I am not a Doc but my parents loved Johnny Cash (who doesnt?)

One more thing. There is a HD dealer in farmington New Mexico they informed me that they could throw the bike up on the Dino and dial it in has anyone ever had this done?
It will cost a cool three hundred.

I just jetted mine the way I thought then had it dynoed. By doing that I could see where it was rich and lean and make adjustments myself in the jetting. Then after running a wek or so had it done again until I get it nailed. At the time a three pull dyno run was $45 so for 4 of them it cost me $180 and I learned a lot about what to change and what to leave alone. Besides it made me a better carb wrench.

Is there a way to tell the difference from a Dynojet needle and any other brand ? I don't know what is in my R*

Does it matter if you use a Mikuni Jet on a Dynojet needle??

Does the R* run better either one??

The Mikuni jet will have a large head with some symbols on it .... RoadKill has post a pic of it on a previous thread.

Either needle is OK and runs OK with either one.

I've got a '99 Roadstar with BAK, ported manifold and Samson Big Gun exhaust. I'm taking it up into the mountains, through Raton NM and Gunnison Co, for the first time. One of the passes appears to be well over 10,000 feet. I'll be staying for a week at around 7000 feet. Spend the rest of my time scootin around Texas.
Do I need to be concerned about running up over these elevations without messing with jetting etc.. Just changed the plugs and they were all tan but I do have bluing and golding on the pipes in some spots. Otherwise the bike runs great.
