That's true. But you would think that a little experience would teach them to... nahhhh!

Yeah, but, keep in mind, we have a collaboration of thousands of bikers on here with the same bike, and same mods, and lots of knowledgeable people here too. We can see a same issue with 10, 20, 30 bikes, while that particular wrench might have not even seen a bike with that issue. Or that wrench might only work on 1 Roadie a month. We have the numbers here to see what works and what doesn't work.

And that's why we love it. My wife has already started in on "Why are you always on that weird forums?"

That's the problem, these wrenches don't know, they just follow instruction from the pipe manufacturers. Have you ever seen a pipe that does not say to re-jet?

Amen, and that's the part that really tics me off These manufacturers figure that if they don't throw in a huge jet folks will think the pipes aren't boosting performance...

Here's what it says on the work order.
Replaced needle with dynojet needle. Set to #4 Clip from top set F/S tp 3 1/4 replaced main with 190 from kit. Plugged AIS.

I had it jetted because I was putting V&H Long Shots on the bike. That was the only mod.

Thanks for your help!

Hi, the same thing happened to my bike, I have a 04 1700 with stock intake and V&H longshots, what I did was move the Dynojet needle to the 3rd groove from the blunt end ( the top) with the spacer and 1 washer. I had a 165 mikuni main jet handy (which is the same as a 176 Dynojet main) so I stuck it in there. The pilot screw is 2 and a half turns out. My result is 45 mpg at 65 and very easy starting cold. I am still running a little rich but it is real hot here in so cal in the desert so I am leaving it for a while. I don't recommend using different parts like I did but it is working.
The 190 jet you have is equal to about a 178 Mikuni so you can see how much richer yours is than mine.
