Re:Biting off more than I can do? 2 Years, 5 Months ago
Went Stage 3 two weeks ago. Sounds great with only the slightest backfire on prolonged decel on the superslab.

Today tackled the big job. Got 'er done in about three hours of total time. Lots of breaks for lunch and sanity checks. Rejetted the carb and got the BAK installed. I'm putting off the manifold for now. Fired her up and all sounds good. The BAK makes an interesting sound as the air is sucked in. I don't know if it's possible to tell but I reved it a couple times and I swear I can feel the throttle kicking in sooner. Raining out so I can't go for a test ride.

Overall I will say that it was a very straightforward process. I know absolutley nothing about the actual inner workings of carbs or engines but this was way easier than I thought. Thanks to the tech articles section! The dremel tip on the float bowl was the trick!

One last question. There's a hose that came off the carb and was attached to the back of the stock air box. I put the hose back on the carb but left off the small black box shaped thing. Didn't seem to do anything anyway. Is this needed?
