Re:Cobra exhaust popping problem ? 2 Years, 8 Months ago
does it look like this?

Cobra Slash Cut Slip on

or this

Cobra Speedster Slashdowns

They won't match exactly. Cobra really pared down their systems in the lt 3-5 years. If it looks like the slip ons in the first pic but with smaller diameter mufflers then it is probably the old slip on dragster exhaust. If it looks like the second then you probably have the speedsters, I don't think they changed that system much. One question, does it look like the the tips are seperate? They did sell tips for some of their systems but have since discontinued those.

Looks kinda like the slip on slashdowns but they run right next
to each other like the others. If you send me your e-mail I'll send you a pic.
Can't load jpeg file for some reason.
Thanks,
Chris

Re:Cobra exhaust popping problem ? 2 Years, 8 Months ago
"Cobra slip on's cackle badly anyways. I was given a set, along with the factory mufflers when I bought my 05. I quickly sold them because they were annoying. I then performed the stage 3 mod on the stock mufflers and rode like that for a year until I bought some V&H short shots."

Question, Would adding a baffle that dims the sound a bit work for this or would you recommend just getting new pipes?

I currently have some slip on's, not sure exactly make but someone said they sound like Cobra's however cannot find a set that looks like them. Long drags ontop of each other, flat even cut in the back, and resemble actual full exhaust but the tops are just covers till they go straight mid way. No Logo though.

But the crackling at deceleration is getting old real fast. Especially since I do alot of city driving and that is basically all i hear.

Debating on getting new baffles(since mine look pretty non existant) or buying new pipes.

It would be good if you could get a pic up, but in any case, creating a little more back pressure should reduce de-cel popping..in most cases.......

Re:Cobra exhaust popping problem ? 2 Years, 8 Months ago
that was going to be my next suggestion, if you didn't want to spend the cash. Cobra makes baffles, but finding the right ones might be hard especially if the pipes are an older model.

there was a thread (i think) on this site that explained how to make your own, it didn't look too hard. I've read too that you can use a door lock plate bent to a right angle and that helps a little, but don't quote me on it. I don't remember if that was here or on another site.
