You have to have the Adobe Reader installed on your machine. It's a freebie and is available at http://www.adobe.com

It was 3 years old when I got it but it only had 200 miles on it. Had a blast on that bike. I got all the manuals printed out. I just plain do not have an ear for motors. I can tell a real bad runner from a good runner but I'm lost if you take a fairly good runner and put it next to a good runner. I just can't tell the difference no matter how hard I try. So that's why I say my bike may be fairly good but it sounds real good to me. There is no difference in the sound to me. But it isn't giving me any grief and it starts when I want it to so I'm going to leave well enough alone.

Ok,
I found myself with the same problems. I am using the dyno jet kit.
Main 190
Pilot 37
ais plugged off
Needle clip at the 3rd from the top
Screw 3 turns out.

Top end is great idle is fine. Midrange or low rpm cruise it falls on its face and chokes out the rear cylinder. It seems like it is starving for fuel but the plug is wet with fuel when removed. The plug has black soot cover the tip.
I tried all different set ups and could not make it go away.
I purchased a new jet kit from Yamaha as part of the stage 2 kit.
Main 165
Pilot 50
ais plugged off
Needle clip at the 5th from top
Screw 2.5 turns out.
Same as above, but when I made this test it was with the dyno jet needle. I changed the needle to the new one. Performed test again and the issue was gone so far. I will take it for a test ride tomorrow and see. It seems that the rear cylinder is more susceptible to fuel conditions than the front. Wile performing all these test and changes the front never changed that much. I did notice that after the bike is wormed up it would pop or backfire out the exhaust on shut down, sometimes.
Thanks,

OK
Found that the main was to large In other settings
now I have a setting of
Main 165
Pilot stock
AIS plugged off
Needle clip at 6th from top
Screw 3.25 turns out still a little rich will try 2.75 that should fix it.
Other than that all ellse is Good.
Thanks,

Post edited by: Deeds, at: 2006/07/24 08:00
