had similar problem last year caused by idle speed being too slow. try increase on tickover setting on adjuster knob

The Roadstars recommended idle speed is higher than most people expect it to be. If you've set it by ear, it's probably too low. If I recall correctly, it should be around 800 - 900 rpm when warm.

Oh, and by the way,
Ratl.

I had the same problem. Idle was set too low, bumped it back up to where it should be. And the mixture was too lean, richened it up a 1/4 turn.

Purrs like a kitten now at idle, and growls like a big cat when you 'blip' the throttle.

You might want to see if that's your problem. All the seafoam in the world isn't going to do any good if the bikes out of adjustment.......

I was having the same problem but was due to air being sucked
in at the boot on the manifold side. This was after I pulled
the carb to rejet though. If none of the other suggestions work you
might try spraying a little carb cleaner around it to see if you
developed a vaccum leak. You probably can't adjust your fuel mixture
unless you pull the carb and drill out the mixture screw cover.
Check out the carb sections in the tech section, there is some good
stuff in there.
Goodluck,
Chris

Welcome to my world right now. I am going through the same problem. I have already hit up the seafoam. Now we are currently changing all the fluids and cleaning out the carb. Will have to see...I will read all the other suggestions too. Opps, I just posted this under TROB's forum...your fellow rider, Tabatha
