Re:Jet Settings ???? 5 Years, 1 Month ago
Here's where I'm at...

I redialed the PMS and it cleared up the intake and exhaust backfire at no speed. Now, at high speed it backfires on occasion. Now sure what to do from here.
Maybe try a smaller main jet or what??

Thanks you in advance for all your assistance.

"at high speed it backfires on occasion" means ???

.... at constant throttle at 70 mph you get backfiring
.... at 70 mph you close the throttle and it backfires
.... when you accelerate and close the throttle it backfires

and is it backfiring thorugh the pipes or coughing through the carb?

Doc,
I think I got it!
I used the 170 main and a step 3 on the needle from the top. My needle was set up like this...

washer, spacer, clip, washer

Took it for a ride and WOW! Runs great!

For now, I wish to say thank you to everyone who provided help with my rejet problem. You guys are great!

Glad it worked out for you. Way to go!

.... a step 3 on the needle as washer, spacer, clip, washer.

3rd groove from the top (blunt end)? or from the bottom (pointy end)? 'cause you specified the order of the components from the bottom up.
