Well, I think I'm pretty close, and may just need a tweak of the PMS...and not to fall down anymore.

DJ 175 Main
Stock pilot
DJ needle at 3.5
PMS at 2.75
Ported manifold
YAK (Yamaha Air Kit, aka Speedstar/K&N filter)
Lots of Seafoam in the tank

Won't start without choke (mid 40s in the morning), starts with choke and some throttle twisting. A few carb coughs and restarts later, it idles, but roughly, and I have to blip it a bit to keep it going at first.

Taking off with full choke on, it has very little power and seems to want to die...I have to rev higher than normal to get 'er moving.

After a few minutes of low-speed sputtering, carb coughs and bucking, it's like it comes to life with a few surges of power at first, and then it's like it wakes up...yesterday, as soon as I hit third gear, ran great. No problems with dying at stoplights or anything.

It almost seems starved when cold, then OK when warmed up after a few miles. WOT test is fine. No popping or backfiring on any decel.

Sounds like a common situation as some others on here. Near as I can figure, I might be a little lean on the PMS and need to turn it out a/4 or 1/2 turn. Does this sound about right?

Thanks,

RK

I think you're too lean on the needle. Move it to 4 ...

... 4th clip from the top (blunt end). Sequence from the top is washer, clip, white spacer, washer.

Change nothing else for now.
