HSR42 do not come with a choke cable. Only if added from the dealer (like barons) Which is why Maxair is a little ahead of the curve offering a package deal.

I wish got mine from them Maxair Engineering

Or you can get a stock one from Sudco.com they were local so I picked it up.

My Stock Cable worked perfectly on the HSR 45 I bought from Stephen , you just have to use the Spring and plunger that is inside the Enricher housing , its dirt simple to change the plunger end . As a matter of fact it works better than it did on my stock Carb waaaay better !

From Baron's, it should have a plunger and a heavier spring. Don't remember when I got mine from them, it has been a few yrs, if the plunger was just sitting in the box or it was in the choke hole, same with the spring. remove the knurled nut on the 42 and see if it's in there, remove the plunger and spring from stock choke, slide new spring on then plunger and install in 42. You might need to do the choke knob mod to use it on the 42, mod instructions are in tech articles. I ended up getting a stock Mikuni choke.

You should also use the nut from the stock carb with the stock choke cable.
