That's a common thing that is when you learn to turn the slide upside down stick the needle in the turn it over and drop the spring in. Don't ask me how I know.

Wow, that made a slight differance.... She actually runs now!
Got a little hesitation, but I'm sure we can tune that out. First thing tomorrow after work I'm headin out to do that WOT the right way with the clip on the 5th notch.
Good thing I got that figure out quick, only got enough beam for maybe 2 more!
Thanks for all the help guys!!!

Note to self: Beam and tiny washers are not a good combination.

Knew it had to be something stupid. All these questions kept going the same way, WOT, Float level, needle clip. I was screwing up something pretty obvious.

Look on the bright side - you should be able to take your carb apart with your eyes closed now.

I would start with the 167.5 when you do the WOT. The WOT only tells you if you have a lean main, not a rich one. If you start with the leanest jet and it tells you you're lean you can go up. But if it says you're ok then you won't be running any richer than you need to be. If you start with a richer jet it won't tell you you're richer than you need to be.
