engine won't stay running 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Just had major service completed in December.......bike running great. Rode to Daytona and back put about 1700 miles on it. Parked it when I got back and haven tried to ride it until today (about 10 days after parking it) Engine will fire and run for about 3 to 5 seconds and then shut off. Kept trying until I felt it was flooded. Came home this PM and tried it again.........same results. any ideas???

Starting with the choke on?

Let the float bowl drain for about 15 seconds, you may have some water in it.

After checking all the obvious stuff - gas, petcock turned on, fuel pump working, etc. I always start by pulling the plugs when I have an issue like this. They will tell you if you are getting too much fuel or not enough.

Maybe a bad fuel pump if still running it or poss clogged fuel filter.
