my 06 1700 with yamaha long shots ,yamaha big air ,and yamaha jet kit pulled 69 horse on the dyno .something is amiss in your reading .no way a 1700 only churns out 50 horse.

i would agree with BB, get a second opinion and get on another dyno.

When I had mine tuned for my BAK, they got it up to 72.55hp, and 95.59fpt on the printout.

Just got back from dyno and tune. Report shows Max hp:65.04, Max Torque: 93.69, Air/Fuel Ratio: btween 13.75 and 14. Took bike out for a run right after and was like it unleashed the dragon within. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bike is stock 07 Road*, with HK 3" Big Straights and K&N Filter.

It was jetted at the dealer when pipes were installed, and a second time by a so-called "yamaha specialist" when K&N was put on. After todays experience, both have lost me as a client for good.

I got the idea to get it dyno'd while reading another post on here last week. Found a shop not top far that specializes in dyno and tuning. Owner is very anal about getting it just right and spent 3 hours on jetting and dyno, repeat, until he was happy with the readout.

My bike has never performed this well since I bought it 3 years ago. For 240 bux, IMO, it was the best money I had ever spent on the bike.

A friend had his bike dyno'd for 60 bux, just to assure himself he was running right-and it was.

I highly recommend anyone from the Greater Toronto Area to visit Bruce at Dynotunes in Burlington, Ontario. You can google his website for more info.

Do you know what the jetting is now. Don't it feel good when it runs like it should.

I believe he said 170 main jet-but I'm not 100% certain-I'll find out on Monday.

I couldn't be any happier than right now with my bike's performance..

So you are running a K&N air filter in your stock air box if im reading that right. The HP's might increase with a higher flow air box.
i said it above, but my bike ran 72.55hp with 95.59fpt and its the same year as yours. the only real difference is the air box. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in.

You're right. Stock air box. I'm very pleased with the bikes performance as it stands and have no real immediate intentions of changing anything.

here is from my dyno run almost 2 years ago.

http://roadstarclinic.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,187/func,view/id,84537/catid,12/limit,10/limitstart,0/

I didn't read which jets you are using but if you cross reference dj jets to mikuni that should give you a good start.
I was using DJ jets.
and the bike ran great and had good fuel economy, most of the fuel getting wasted was the pilot jet that dj says to change to theirs and I went back to stock and eco came back with it being stock pilot jet and the main just being a set by the dyno guys as good results even though he said it might do better numbers if richer. But I like the fuel eco and R* likes a bit leaner than a HD anyway.
