So how much is a "fair" price for a quality dyno tuning session?

50 bucks for the dyno runs, and labor for jetting the whole bike for optimum performance? I cant imagine that is a $50 job anywhere. Don't they have to make a lot of adjustments to get it perfect?
I can understand $50 for 2 pulls on the dyno without any labor. Is that what you meant BB?
I am paying (she is paying) $250 for a guy to jet my girlfriends bike for the new pipes and BAK on the dyno, remove the AIS, as well as a carb clean. I paid more than that for mine.

Sorry , spoke too soon. I tune my own stuff , just use a Dyno to make sure everything is up to snuff. I pay the 50 for 2-3 pulls on the Dyno , don't know the cost to have someone else tune it , but I'm guessing you're in the neighborhood Trob. BB

I do as much as my own work on the bike when possible. 1 is because of money, 2 is I'm tired of wrenches screwing something up. I had 1 issue with stock carb at 1 time and wrench was going to adjust float to see if that would fix, I told him specifically not to touch anything else on carb, he did anyway, so had to go and re-set it to where it was. They broke my VOES, broke the vacuum nipple, so he stuck a screw in it, and attached the hose to the screw, DUH!!! a vacuum switch won't work if you stuff the vacuum port, what pissed me off more, was he tried to hide it, and not tell me. The worst almost cost me my life, they replaced stator, when they installed pipes, it was touching part of the rear brake mechanism, riding the brake, after 8 miles, and boiling out all the brake fluid, rear locked up, fortunately I was stopped and waiting for the light to change, and bike didn't go any where. then due to this, a month later caliper had issues due to crystallization of brake fluid, they rebuilt my caliper on their dime, still had issues, to find after I decided to rebuild it myself, that the wiper seal had a split in it, causing the piston to drag and not releasing pads entirely. After new rotor, and rebuild, 2yrs have not had an issue. What stops me a lot, is I have no garage, and a very very small work area at the top of my driveway to do work in, plus dirt and grass all around, and a huge tree overhead.

Oh man, no garage would mean no working on the bike for me. Nothing more enjoyable than working on the ride, listening to music and having a fan blow fresh area through the work area.

Thats why I'm between a rock and a hard place right now, need to get some work done, steering head bearings, replace lifters, and the worst is to find this oil leak, and it's somewhere behind the transfer case. And my lift froze up to rust since I had to keep on enclosed screen porch out back, and been out of work for 9 months. I won't open the engine with all this around, and no bucks for labor. And just got served court papers for forclosure, when it rains it pours.
