Its your AIS. Seriously, remove it. Its emissions crap, not even making the bike more efficient or less pollutant, it just injects fresh air into your exhaust to make it seem like its running clean to the sniffer. I have an 08 with K&N open intake and V&H Big Shots, AIS removed, and the only time I can even get my bike to pop is if I downshift to high revs slowing down. Even then, its intermittent. It always was there, and you just never noticed it. As for the programmer, I think Rich might be on the ball with this one. I've got a PCIII and I'm gonna give it one more go now that I've got my bike set up the way I want it, but it has never run as well on the PCIII as it does with the O2 sensors plugged in and PCIII removed. Just sayin. Order the AIS removal kit off eBay and take care of it.

Dan,
I've got a similar set-up to yours on my '08 and it is running well. Do you have the O2 eliminators installed?
What MAP are you running?

Take off the AIS & PCIII and put the 02 sensors in (if they're out).

If you can do that, you'll have many happy hours of no-pop riding. Guaranteed...

Probably not. Try it without it first (I would cancel the order for it now if you can). Also, make sure to remove your AIS if you haven't already. Baron's carries a good AIS removal kit.
You may also want to change your transfer case gear lube before you install your new pipes. Most aftermarket pipes that I've seen (except the Yamaha Speedstar long drag pipes that you see in my sig picture) will block access to the transfer case plugs and make changing the tranfer case gear lube impossible without removing your pipes.
Good Luck!
