The type of riding I mostly do nothing will help MPG. Light to light city riding with no consistancy or control of my right hand twist . Upper crusing range is where I would expect a differance. When I go on my weekend country rides.

Another important thing to look at when you get your dyno chart is when and how the HP/TQ come in. What you want to see is an imediate ramp in Tq and you want it to stay high across the chart with no big drop off. The HP should be a little spike and then turn into a gradual steady upward slope. Also in the upper rpm range when the Tq is coming down off peak HP should still be going up. Mine intersects at about 3500 RPM and 95Tq/64 hp And HP peaks at 4250 rpm.
does this look normal?

Tommy send me your email address and I'll send you a copy of what I am talking about.
Your Tq is very slow and your Hp looks good.
If you can see it in this pic the Tq is the one that goes almost straight up. This is a comparison of last Sept and now.
Tommy post your chart again showing both sides of the sheet so I can see the #'s on both sides of the sheet

Dave, it's not slow, look where his graph starts at 2k rpm, your starts out at a much lower rpm, so you see that straight upward spike. just appears that there is no tq before 2k rpm. probably operator error, or could be where the parameters were set to start recording tq.
a lot has to do with the operator and how the parameters are set, as I've said before, those numbers are secondary to me, get the AFR right and hp and tq will come into place

Well that top line is your Tq and it appears to stay with you across the chart. Then It's ok (I'll retract my statement above) but it don't show how it ramps up to get there. There are so many dyno chart formats that it makes it difficult (at least for me) to read and understand them all without some time to study them. I hope I'm reading yours correctly. On mine you can actually see when Tq stops and Hp takes over in the upper rpm range and the ramp to get to the Tq. Your Tq didn't just start in the 90's @ 2000 rpm with no ramp to get there. a little confusing.

I didn't see that at first glance. My mistake
Print both his and my charts and study them look at the Hp ramp diff in the same rpm range.
I see where my cunfusion is the chart starts at a completly different hp/Tq range mine starts from 0 and his starts at 30. my charts rpm starts at 1000 and his at 1500 that explains where the ramp is.

The shop that did it is pretty much the "go to" spot for tuning race bikes, so i trust that they did it correctly. It might just be a different format. I appreciate the info dave and Erb. I suck at reading these things.

An other thing strange with his, is that the tq starts falling off about 200rpm further than all the other 1700 data sheets that I've seen as well. Unless he is using an after market pulley?? I've noticed this between the 1700 and 1600 data sheets and believe it's due to the 1 tooth difference between bikes. Mine (1600) peak tq starts at 2200rpm and ends at 3200rpm, virtually it's a straight line, but I've noticed on a few from a 1700 that it starts about the same but ends closer to 3400rpm.
Did I read your comment right in a previous post on this thread? your peak HP is at 4250? That's it? Mine peaks at 4800rpm. I might do a run next weekend, the guy I've used for the last 6yrs will be set-up at the Leesburg Bike fest, I did some changes lately with filter and mains, and got rid of a manifold leak, but 40bucks and out of work for 9 months, really have to give it some thought.

Yes you read correct. Peak hp is at 4250 and 12.3afr and peak Tq is at 2900 and 13.2 AFR stays pretty good to about 3500 when the hp takes over. I guess I'm doing the balancing act between the circuits you were talking about. I probably could have dropped 1 main size to a 180 but what the hell I think my results are good. I actually got a free run out of the dyno tester. He didn't relize the AIS was still hooked up on the first run so it didn't give me the proper AFR's. I brought it back 2 days later after some adjustments. I love two bites at the apple Results were alot better.
On the first run, I had a restrictor mod done on the pipes didn't work out to good Tq was instant but didn't stay very long and hp was down a couple. I had the right idea just went a little too far (restrictive) on the mod. So I removed the restrictor plates I installed and now I'm gonna quit playing with it. At least till the next time
