Re:Need Advise from carb guru 5 Years ago
I have a question for those in the know. Yes , about carb stuff. I am happy with how mine runs, and my mpg's. But I have noticed that when I stop (redlights/stopsigns), for about 3 or so seconds I have a "heavy" idle, then it drops back into its regular "sound". Normal? Now if I've been riding allout, then come to a stop("what was that officer?&quot, it will sound normal 8 time out of 10.
Refresher: BAK, stock pilot, 170 main, PMS at 3 out. AIS off, R/H 2/1, ported manifold. If this is a "normal" characteristic, then great, if not, I'm all about the final "tweeking" to get optimal performance (and sound). Whose first?BB

Is your throttle sticking a little maybe? Maybe need to lube the cables.

Musky, thanks for the PM BTW. Well, the only reason I question anything is because when shes ridden good and hard (occasional) I don't get the labored, all be it, short idle. Making the X spert in me wonder if I'm rich or lean. It runs really good, but I don't mind fine tuning it. I don't think it's a cable issue based on hard run differences.

Blup, blup, blup, followed by the regular "cadence" of the sweet single pin motor. That help?

Whaaaaoooo man man man????
I am dead now. I am wondering you guys saying about jetting issuse. which jet kits works the best for bike .
I read that jet kits work the best for dooley exhust pipe.
I read the jet kets works the best for shorty exhust pipe.
other one the jet kits works the best for long shots pipes. But I have no glue wish will suites for jetting on carbs for exhust pipe. The main thing due to how much back pressure with long pipe and short pipes. If its get too rich and fill to much back pressures. if its too lean and Burn alot hotter ...
so point of view which jet kits works the best ????

If all you are doing is adding an exhaust to a roadstar, 9 and a half times out of 10 it will Not require a rejet. Better for you.

Well why didn't ya say that in the first place. So does it blup blup when it's cold and stops when it gets good and warmed up? Don't know what your idle is set at but maybe bump it up a tad and see if that gets rid of it. Don't know. Never ran into this problem.
