J&P ported manifold 2 Years, 1 Month ago
I will be at J&P late may and have considered the purchase of a ported manifold. Horse power increas is suppose to be between 6 to 8. Question does this sound correct? I am running stock box with K&N filter with no jet kit. Any mods need if manifold is installed. Thanks In advance. Bofish

could save a few bucks and do it yourself start to finish shouldn't take you no more then a hour or so id say - from removing manifold - port - reinstalling it.

Not sure the exact numbers, but it was enough to feel a difference for me. I followed the directions of our very own manifold/carb guru Curt and am very happy with the results. Like slothy said though, do it yourself and save the money. If you have access to a dremel it is a completely free mod.

IMHO... I would put money on aftermarket air filter and pipes before I went with the ported manifold... or add the ported manifold with a new aftermarket air filter... I dont think you will reap the benefits of a ported manifold with a stock filter assembly, even with a K&N replacement filter...

Thats my .02, but wtfdik....

I agree with GrinderEFFE

I had mine off and ready to do the mod on the Manifold, After talk with the group I determined now was not the time. I going to wait till I can round up some cash and do it up Right Port maniflod, 42 HSR carb and pipes with a big air kit And then maybe a new wife if it comes to that I dout it she keeps telling everyone she's got me trained in already. She maybe thinking that over when winter comes and no riding just Mods Will see.

I'm sure others will chime in.. Good luck with what ever you do.

Thanks Slothy for the link. I might just have enough skill to pull that off. If I do this I will let you how well it went. Thanks. Bofish
