If I take it easy I was getting 42 mpg but as all roadies speedos are off and I installed a speedohealer to correct my speedo, my mpg dropped to 40

I installed the speedo healer the same time i went from the stock 32t to a 31t front pulley on my 06 silverado and it didnt seem to change miles displayed & or fuel mileage either.

I used my wife's brand new car to clock my bikes speedo prior to setting up/programming the speedo healer to ensure i was setting it up correctly with the proper correction value , i also know wife's speedo is dead on from using GPS in her car.

So maybe your speedo is still reading off a few mph or it was quite a bit off prior to installing the speedo healer.

The speedo on my bike read approx 1.5-2 mph faster the my bike was actually going prior to inst 31t pulley and speedo healer.

Scott

my bike has a gps and I programmed the speedohealer to that. gps and speedo are now dead on.

11.7%
gps 53mph
speedo 60mph

mine was off by 5 mph but then i put a 31 tooth pulley and belt on and at the same time I mounted a rear tire that was a lower profile than orig which caused the extra difference.
most roadies are at least 5 mph off from the factory. I would also venture to say that most foriegn bikes are the same. The only bike that I've seen dead on was the harley - I could be wrong but this is what I've seen

Living in New Mexico you have open road and a long way to travel. I went to Santa Fe today traveled at 80 to 85 mph I got 35 to 40 mpg. This has been the norm for my RS. K&N filter, replaced jets, run straight pipes and replaced the rev limiter. It got faster but the gas mileage has stayed the same.

The CV carb does a great job at compensating for altitude, but not perfect....we generally run on the primary, not the main...
