New Pipes! Do I need to rejet? 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and also new to Yamaha (Kawasaki converter). I just purchased a 2007 Roadstar Silverado and love it. Of course I want to upgrade to new pipes. I can't really seem to get a grip on jetting. Is it needed with a new exhaust?

Welcome to the Clinic!

You have good taste in bikes.

Jetting is not normallly required for new pipes but you may have to remove the carb in order to remove the PMS cap so that you can adjust it.

Thanks for the advice Doc. What am I looking at as far as adjusting the PMS, I've never really adjusted anything having to do with the carbs. Any suggestions?

There is a Carb section in the Tech Tips that contains various articles on the carb and jetting, one which deals with the PMS.

I suggest you read them at your leisure to get an appreciation of the stock carb.

If you have any questions, then I'll try and answer them.

I put Roadhouse Doolies on and have'nt touched a thing, the bike runs to well to mess with!! I suggest putting them on and taking a ride, see how it feels before any tweaking.
