Inexpensive exhaust Analyzer 1 Year, 10 Months ago
This comes up from time to time, so thought I would pass it along.

I use a consumer grade exhaust analyzer on my bikes to get my jetting pretty spot on. I also like to experiment with different modifications to the carb and intake to see if I can tweek a little more performance out of my bike.

The Exhaust Analyzer I use is called a Gunson Gastester . It will set you back just a little over $200 from the importer, but might be had for less elsewhere. Its a little too expensive for guys who are going to tune once and ride for years. If you are the guy who ends up jetting all his buddies bikes it might be worth looking into.

Does not use expensive reference gasses, it compares the exhaust to free air.

I doubt it is as accurate as the ones used on Dyno's, but it has proven to be invaluable to me. It has also gotten rave reviews from some pretty high up names in different race circuits.

Just FYI.

I've considered getting one for a couple of years but would really like to run across an old Sun unit like I used to use in Jr College. If I ever do get one or the other it will probably get a workout for a short time and then sit for a while.
