Is the pilot air jet and the PMS the same thing, if not, where is the pms to adjust it? Sorry about being so dumb about these things, but I'm learning.

No, the pilot jet is a jet inside the carb and the PMS is a mixture screw on the outside of the carb. If the PMS has never been adjusted there will be a cap over it that has to be removed to access it. Look in the tech articles section under rejet your carb and you will find an illustration of there locations.
