Re:HSR42 - rich idle 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I checked the site out and the little pipe around the top is not showing. I have the "VOES" plugged (on the back side) from my manual and came plugged, the other large pipe is the fuel supply but there is a little elbow towards the top I don't know what it is. Wanted to post a pic. maybe this is the vent? gone out to check to see if I can take a pic.

I believe the pipe above the fuel inlet is a vent and should be left open........

The manual shows it is a vent and in big BOLD TEXT it says "DO NOT PLUG". Download the tuning manual it has everything you need in it. Tuning Manual

the float bowl vent is on the side, points down, just above the gas inlet. Back cable side is a purge fitting, keep this blocked, back left side elbow is vacuum port, either capped or for voes

pointing up (90deg elbow) is vacuum port used for voes or nitrous, purge is on back, should be a very short straight pipe pointing pointing towards the manifold, think it is for Ca, smog control, but not sure

Last time My manual says: purge fitting left side back, comes plugged (for emissions) in the view can see the voes fitting that says "seal if not used". Page 17 shows the voes fitting (to voes or vacuum petcock. Cap-off if not in use) little confusing for the same fitting. Last one Vent Fitting shows DO NOT PLUG on the side of the fuel inlet.

That's it the diagram doesn't show the vent on top of the carb by the choke cable housing. I'll plug that too

That's what confused me in your first post, I don't recall any vent on the top, but you got me curious now...I guess the choke could have some sort of vent.....
