Thanks for the welcome, Road Star Clinic website has really helped me learn about my Road Star. Mine rides well it just needs some updates and tuning. I bought it with 2300 miles on it and it really hadnt been ridden hard at all. I noticed after the first fill up my mileage was really poor around 25-30 mpg and it started to run like it was missing.
Pulled the plugs and the two on the pushrod side were wet>.changed out with iridiums, cut back the wires and reseated the caps>pulled the
carb and
pilot was slightly dirty, reset the float according to the tech article aligning float ridge with carb tower and it was really on the lean side. I did set the airscrew at 3 turns out.
Put it all back together, changed oil and gear lube, dumped in some Marvel and went for a ride, it ran great pulled well over a 100 with no hesitation. It still has a hiccup when you blip the throttle but will get to that when I put on the new Vance and Hines pipes and K&N filter assembly.
Also I did the choke knob cutback>I had to cut off a full 1/8th to get a biz card clearance. Thanks again to the brillant folks that thought up these tech articles>.
