i finally got to my jets and the pilot is 35, main 160, starter ?, is this stock jets or what . i dont have no idea what brand if aftermarket, i think that im running rich(soot on plugs, 32-37mpg, smell gas), but ive never been about to post my setting till now,
main=160
starter= ? didnt see number
pilot= 35
i have vh longshots, and stock air box with kn filter,

You didn't mention the needle? Which notch is the clip on or is it stock with no notches?

From what I understand, The "starter jet" was a '99-only thing. My '00 doesn't have one, it's just a plug where the jet used to be.
The 160 main will have you in the ball park. I'm running a 172.5 main jet. The 35 pilot is fine.
As for the slide needle, carefully pull the slide assemble from the top of the carb. Remove the retainer clip (carefully,again) & remove the needle. Pay attention to the spacer & small washer that are under the e-clip. If the needle has only 1 groove for the clip, it is the stock needle. If it has 5 or 6 grooves, it is an after market needle.

Sound to me like you have a completely stock 02 carb is the plug for the PMS screw drilled out yet? There is a tech article in the Tech section check it ti see where your PMS is located.

curt , yes it is drilled out it was drilled so i replaced original screw with barons pms, if this is stock i have something going on to only get 32-37 mpg, i will pull needle and let you guys know
