Metal needle washers 1 Year, 3 Months ago
The dealer originally installed my Baron's jet kit and I have finally decided to "fine tune" it. I discovered that I only have 2 of the metal washers, one to go on top of the clip and one under the plastic washer. I would like to add one more metal washer to my kit and the dealer only sells the complete needle assy at $$$$. Where can I get a washer?
Thanks,
Dave

Trust me when I say this. Somebody in the service dept. (mechanic) has a bunch of those things sitting in his tool box somewhere. If you know your shop well enough, they might just give you a couple. They didn't buy them anyway, probably left over from other customers kits. I believe that DJ selling individual pieces of their jet kits , so you might look in that direction if the first suggestion fails. Couple of thoughts. BB

Put the top washer on the bottom. Then cut a washer for the top out of an old credit card or some material like that. Another option anywho.

Yes Radio Shack has a package of washers that contains a size that fits. I don't know, however, what they spec out to in terms of thickness.

You best bet is to check out some dirt bike shops. They should have shims of various thickness for sale. The different thickness are colour coded.

Another great source for tiny washers is an electronics shop...they have all kinds of tiny washers for fixing VCR's...the service techs will probably give you a pile as VCR's are a dying breed - FYI. - Rod.

Another place that has all sorts of small washers are hobby shops. They use them in radio controlled airplanes and such.
