I have a 2005 Road Star Silverado and am adding a Baron's ported intake manifold, the
BAK filter and Baron's jet kit. My exhaust system is Vance and Hines Power Shots. I've got a couple of questions. According to the BAK installation instructions, the filter should come pretty much preassembled. My kit is not. There's a "power cone" included as part of the kit and I'm guessing it's mounted to the back of the filter cover over the air intake but I'd sure feel better with a picture or some advice from somebody that's actually seen one mounted!!
Question #2: On jetting, the instructions indicate that the
main jet should be 172.5 for pipes with baffles which I think is my situation. They go on to suggest putting the needle clip in the 5th groove and
PMS screw out 3 1/2 turns. Right now with my stock set up, I'm getting really good gas mileage, generally over 50 on the highway. I'd really like to not screw that up, if possible! I'm hoping this new filter and jetting arrangement will make my machine more efficient and maybe a little peppier but I really would lean more to keeping the good gas mileage than boosting performance if it comes to a choice between the two!
I'd sure appreciate some suggestions from some of you that's "been there, done that!"
Thanks in advance.
