bowl height on bike. 9 Months, 1 Week ago
I came across an odd event. I set my bowl height on a bench with the carb off the bike. After setting the bowl height even with the gasket I re-installed it on the bike. Turned on the bike and the pump filled the bowl. Checked bowl height on the bike and it was higher than originally set.

Has anyone set their bowl height as described above and could you check your bowl height for me on your bike? Just wondering if the pump increases height under pressure..

Thanks,
Mark

I'm sorry I'd love to help you out. I've rebuilt a number of carbs in my life and have used the little L shaped measureing thing to set the float right but I have never come across what your dealing with. I'm sure somebody will set you straight.

Sorry....man, I don't even know how to check it, never could understand the instructions...I shook it violently upside down, dropped the whole damn carb from bar heighth, stretched the tines a bit to get a rag in there to clean, and, never hurt the float a bit, she starts every time and I still get 17 miles per gallon, guess I'm just blessed

Take a look at this and see if it helps you. Print it out to read as you perform the procedure.
