Hello Doc.....

in your profile bike jetting information change the pilot jet to #25! type in pump nozzle #70 in other carb information data block.

I was visiting the Internet and typed in Roadstar 1600 HSR42 Modifications, it responded back with Doc Shadows 2000 Roadstar 1600, HSR42 carb, #70 pilot jet "Nasty Boys" exhaust, my thought it was alittle mis-leading, but we had to find out why the rich jetting #70 ......

just thought what does Doc know that we do not?

So what ARE you running for the pilot jet? A coffee can?

No he modded up a funnel to put the gas in. He is just resigned to the 3 MPG he is getting though.

I went to a 42 and a 45 and the HP stayed the same. They did give quicker throttle response at all settings and allowed for quicker throttle response and acceleration at lower rpms without having to downshift. It is more sensitive and if you hit a big bump it can cause throttle movement more than the CV carb does. Even gas mileage stayed about the same.

I think an earlier discussion, I found that a 1600 can only use about 127cfm of air. Anything about that and flow based performance gains are limited.
