no such thing as a 85 pilot jet, if there were, doubt you would even get 20mpg.

A 195 main if Mikuni is way too big, even a DJ would be too big, but the DJ would flow a little less fuel than the Mikuni. Mikuni numbers sizes by flow rate, DJ are by hole diameter size.

All Mikuni jets have their logo stamped on them, a box in a box and usually the letter "R". DJ just a number.

Your cruise speed is controlled by the pilot ckt. Pilot jet, pilot screw setting, jet needle and needle jet. Main jet controls acceleration and wot. According to Mikuni cruise speed is 65mph.

35 pilot is correct, 195...mikuni, DJ??
There's a conversion chart (Mikuni/DJ) in tech articles, in most cases a 170 or 172.5 Mikuni main is fine or DJ equivalent.

I like simple, it's a Mikuni carb, use Mikuni jets.
And why is there no DJ carb??

More than likely it's a DJ jet.

I get local for 2.50 a jet, mains or pilots. Most on-line get 5 bucks plus shipping. I have 5 Yamaha dealers with-in a 35 mile radius alone from me, plus at least a dozen independent shops, plus all the other makes of bikes. Tons of local resources down here.

Have just completed jetting after buying a Barons jet kit and settings are : 170 main jet ,needle on 4th clip from blunt end and pms out 2 1/2 turns from soft seating. Pulls smoothly up to rev limiter in 4th gear no back firing on decel and idles smooth at 900 rpm. Now waiting for weather to clear and take bike on long run to check fuel economy. Will decide after that whether it needs put on a dyno for fine tuning.
