I've had my nemesis off a couple of times doing things. Greased it up very well, the head and the manifold and but in the orings... sealed up proper... I used a wooden Hammer handle for leverage in the manifold throat to get the second set of bolts in.

The stuff Doug Montgomery shipped with the Manifold when I bought it. Its looks like Vaseline but is much higher temperature. Its makes the Manifold Slide around nicely and seals the thing perfectly.
If you want an exact name, I'll have to go look for the container and small application sleeves of the stuff he sent.

Well, my plan was/is to use pretty much what several of you said...red molybdenum soap grease (dense & sticky) to hold the o-rings in & a bead of Hylomar around the outside of the o-ring & none on the heads and put it right on before the blue stuff gets too tacky. Haven't been able to get back to it because of work, but it's supposed to be sunny & mid 60s this weekend, so I'll be working on it tonight.

Didn't know it's a Permatex product. Still ain't found it around here yet.  Open to alternatives also. |

Picked mine up at Advanced Auto Parts. Have seen it at Auto Zone as well.
